Deep Dish Dungeon Crafting: Stations, Tools and Materials

Open the inventory crafting menu for basic items and buildable stations, then use a Workbench for equipment and materials such as Leather. Find Leather to unlock the Cooking Table; Steam patch 1.0.51.0 also added a Pickaxe recipe to the Workbench.

Choose the right crafting menu

Open Crafting from the inventory to inspect basic recipes and buildable stations. A full-game recording shows the Cooking Pot, Kettle, Oven and other camp objects in that menu. Place a station after crafting it, then interact with the station for its own options.

Turn Animal Hide into Leather

Catch a Rat and check its hand-crafting recipe for Raw Meat and Animal Hide. At the Workbench, select Leather: a launch-period recording shows two Animal Hides producing Leather in the recipe preview.

The developer also confirms that Animal Hide from Rats can be made into Leather at the Workbench and says Leather can be found deeper in the dungeon. The red inputs in the recorded preview mean that frame alone does not show the craft being completed.

Once you have Leather, use it to unlock the Cooking Table. A player guide lists its construction materials as two Wood Planks and one Leather.

Find tools, then check the current menu

Pick up useful tools while exploring and check the Workbench for replacement recipes. The developer lists the Hammer, Pickaxe and Axe among tools that can be crafted at the Workbench; Steam patch 1.0.51.0 specifically added the Pickaxe recipe.

That patch also says the Hammer needs one fewer Iron Rod; it does not give the complete new material list. Check your Workbench for the exact amounts instead of copying an old recipe.

In patch 1.0.50.0, the Hook moved to the Workbench and the Grappling Hook moved to inventory crafting. They are related items, so check both menus if you are following an older route.

Plan materials for camp stations

A player guide shows a Cooking Pot recipe of one Iron Pot and three Iron Rods, and a Kettle recipe of one Iron Pot and two Chains. Its screenshots are recipe previews from a launch-period guide, not proof of current unlock conditions for every save.

The Cooking Pot needs heat for soups. The Kettle also needs water and is used for drinks; the Oven finishes prepared food such as raw pizza. If a station is missing or a craft button is unavailable, check the correct menu, discovered materials and the ingredients shown there.

Upgrade a weapon at the Forge Anvil

Bring the weapon and its required materials to the Forge Anvil. Place the weapon in the slot, check the ingredients shown and start the upgrade; retrieve the weapon when the process finishes.

In one recorded full-game session, a Short Sword becomes +1 using five Scrap Metal and two Wood Planks. In another, a Knight’s Blade goes from +1 to +2 while five Scrap Metal and one Grinding Stone are consumed. These are observed examples, not a complete price list for every weapon or build.

Check the anvil’s next prompt before spending more materials. The footage does not establish the maximum level for every item or whether upgrades can be reversed. The Steam patch notes above do not establish that every earlier recipe or upgrade cost remains unchanged.

Questions

Why is my Cooking Table recipe missing?

On Steam patch 1.0.50.0 the unlock prerequisite changed from Corn to Leather. Pick up Leather and check the inventory crafting menu.

Where do I make another Pickaxe?

Steam patch 1.0.51.0 added a Pickaxe recipe to the Workbench. Check its current menu for materials; the patch note does not list them.
